Arrow-to-the-Knee. Dragon hunting.
Initial sketch.
Old, old art of mine from HP fandom. Still the most memorable pieces I’ve done. First is a 2-night experiment to break in the new drawing tablet, second is an illustration to a novel fan fiction called the Price of Magic and a birthday present to my co-writer, third one was drawn just because, and fourth one is a commission.
And this is where I’m currently with the Anders wip. Colors and texture slightly cleaned up in Gimp. Layout - much improved. About to take it back into MyPaint for more detail.
Needs a real background… Also, possibly hands with lyrium bottle in the bottom half of the image so it’s not so empty, but yeah, getting close to completing it.
More color. Laptop overheated and shut down on the first try, this is a second try that I had to redo from scratch. I’m still remembering a far better color range of the first one.
I blame Anders. For everything.
A Nude Mouse With 1 Sad Tuft of Hair Is Really a Feat of Regenerative Medicine
Look at that sad bastard.
I’ve been genetically blessed when it comes to baldness. Both sets of grandparents kept hair well into their 80’s, and my dad probably has thicker hair than I do. No grey, just plenty of hair. This mouse can’t say the same thing.
This type of mouse is genetically modified so that it can’t produce hair (in addition to having absolutely no immune system whatsoever, which makes this research possible). Japanese scientists have used human and mouse stem cells implanted along with tiny nylon tubes to stimulate fully functional hair growth in these nude mice. It even stands on end when the mouse is cold! Which is probably a lot, since it’s bald!
Imagine a future where blood vessels, skin grafts, hair and more are regrown with targeted injections of cells. That future is going to be awesome. More on these regenerative techniques here.

THIS IS EXCITING!!! Not the hair, all the rest of it. This is just the start!
Now for ethics committees to start their darn approval processes for human trials.
among other things.Get fighted guys!
You know you’re a DA fan when you look at this image and IMMEDIATELY think of a Nug.
Did I hear ‘Nug’? Yep, I definitely did…
… always reblog for nugs.
Indeed.
Although around my desktop, it’s usually a Chromium vs Opera battle, with IEs4linux locked away and contained in a separate sandbox, for special occasions.
Anders shooting Hawke in the butt with an icebolt mid-spellcast will never not be funny.
DAT ASS = WAY TOO HOT
Also note how Anders is ROCK HARD for him.
(…Why yes, I AM a five year old in disguise, however did you guess?) ;}
“Aww yeah!” Hawke twirled his oversized swordstaff in one hand as he faced their latest foes. “I am awesome! Am I not awesome? Look how awesome I am! You wanna make dinner outta me?”
Anders tried not to pay attention to the unselfconscious way Hawke danced when he taunted, and especially not to the way Hawke’s arse swayed, in a shimmy that was decidedly spicy. Anders blinked and tried distracting himself by eyerolling at Hawke’s verbal boasts. “‘Dinner’, huh?” And a show.
“You’d better believe it,” Hawke snapped his fingers cheerfully, readying twin fireballs. “One rat, well done! Coming up.”
More like coming back up, if he expects me to actually eat that, Anders thought, wincing at the smell of burnt mud and rat hair.
“Ha!” Hawke struck a pose and waved his still-flaming arms. “And for dessert… You’ve got me. Aaaall to yourself.” Even though he couldn’t see Hawke’s crazy grin, Anders could see his arse cheeks beneath the taut fabric of his robes: they were flexing lewdly, practically winking. “As long as you’re up for it,” Hawke drawled teasingly.
Anders shrugged and blew an ego-pruning burst of frost right between those taunting cheeks. After all, the arse was in dire need of cooling off.
Hawke jumped, but recovered the next moment, turning to throw an unrepentant grin-and-wink over his shoulder as he dusted off a glittering layer of ice crystals. “Fair comment,” he said as if Anders’ spell was a spoken reply, “my arse really is that cool.”
